Singer Portable Arrested in Kwara Over Petition by Fuji Star Saheed Osupa
Controversial street-hop artist Habeeb
Okikilola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has been arrested by operatives
of the Kwara State Police Command following a petition filed against him by
Fuji music legend, Okunola Saheed, also known as Osupa.
In a statement released by the
command’s spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the arrest was made in
connection to serious allegations leveled against Portable. These include criminal
defamation, threat to life, incitement, character assassination, conduct likely
to cause a breach of peace, and the use of abusive and insulting language.
“In view of the weight of these
allegations and the supporting evidence presented, the Command secured a valid
arrest warrant from a Magistrate Court sitting in Ilorin,” the statement
read.
Acting on the warrant, officers
tracked Portable to Abeokuta, Ogun State, where he was apprehended on Sunday,
April 13, 2025, at approximately 7:25 p.m. He was then transported to Ilorin
for further investigation.
Upon arrival in Ilorin, Portable’s
statement was taken in the presence of legal representatives from both parties,
as confirmed by the police.
Ejire-Adeyemi also noted that
Portable remains in police custody, and efforts are underway to charge him to
court without delay.
The singer posted a video on social media capturing the moment he was picked up by the officers — a clip that has since gone viral and stirred mixed reactions online.
