Nursing Mother Cries Out Over Neighbour’s Weed Smoking, NDLEA Steps In
A nursing mother took to social
media on Friday, April 18, to raise an alarm over her neighbour’s persistent
weed smoking, which she says is putting her newborn at risk.
In a post shared on X (formerly
Twitter), the distressed mum explained that the strong smell of cannabis from
her neighbour’s apartment often fills her home, leaving her baby choked and
uncomfortable. Despite multiple appeals to the neighbour to stop, she said her
pleas have been ignored.
“Please, how do I get the
NDLEA’s attention? I have a newborn and my neighbour smokes weed like there’s
no tomorrow. The smell fills the entire flat, and my baby keeps choking. I’ve
begged him to stop, but he won’t listen,” she wrote.
Her cry for help quickly gained
traction online, prompting a swift response from the National Drug Law
Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Responding via its official handle,
the agency assured the nursing mum that action would be taken to address the
situation.
