Actress Toni Tones Defends Zicsaloma Amid Criticism Over Mother's Hospital Care

 

Actress Toni Tones is speaking out in defense of comedian and skitmaker Isaac Aloma, popularly known as Zicsaloma, following backlash over his emotional video detailing the poor treatment his mother allegedly received at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) amid her battle with cancer.

Zicsaloma had shared a heartbreaking account of how his ailing mother was reportedly denied admission and left unattended despite her fragile condition. While many sympathized with him, others took to social media to criticize him for not flying his mother abroad for treatment—citing his own trip to Turkey for cosmetic surgery.

Toni Tones, however, wasn’t having it. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), she clapped back at the critics, writing:

“Everyone saying Zic flew to Turkey to get surgery but took his mum to LUTH for cancer, you’re all colossally stupid.”

Her bold statement has sparked conversations about empathy, privilege, and the challenges of navigating Nigeria’s healthcare system, especially when dealing with serious illnesses like cancer.

Many fans have since praised Toni for standing up for Zicsaloma and reminding people to lead with compassion rather than judgment.
