Warri-Itakpe Train Service Resumes April 30
After a brief but disruptive pause in operations, the Warri-Itakpe train service is officially set to get back on track. The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that services will resume on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, following a 20-day suspension caused by multiple technical hitches including engine failures that brought trains to a grinding halt.
In a public statement released on
Monday, Callistus Unyimadu, Acting Deputy Director of Public Relations at NRC,
confirmed that their engineering team had worked tirelessly behind the scenes
to diagnose and fix the root issues.
“We understand the impact this
disruption had on our passengers. Our engineers have worked diligently to
resolve the problems, enhance capacity, and improve service reliability,”
the statement read.

10, left many passengers frustrated and seeking alternatives. But according to
the NRC’s Managing Director and CEO, Dr. Kayode Opeifa, customers can now
expect a smoother, safer, and more dependable ride as the revamped schedule
