Nollywood star and fitness enthusiast, Kate Henshaw, has once again proven that she’s not one to overlook the details, especially when it comes to grammar.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) found itself under her sharp spotlight after making a grammatical blunder while responding to comments made by former presidential candidate Peter Obi.

The drama unfolded on X (formerly Twitter) after Peter Obi raised concerns about the early hours young Nigerian candidates were forced to leave home to sit for the university entrance exams. Obi criticized the system for requiring students to report for examinations as early as 6:00 am, a situation he described as harsh and unnecessary.

In its defense, JAMB posted via its official account:

"@PeterObi, Your Excellency,
I must assert that our examination is scheduled to commence at 8:00am, not 6:00am. While verification and other clearance processes begin at 6:30am, it is imperative that candidates are afforded adequate time to settle in before the exam begins."

While the board was busy setting the record straight, Kate Henshaw swooped in and not about the exam timing, but about the English.

Pointing out the grammatical slip, she wrote:

"By the way @JAMBHQ,
It's not 'while verification and other clearance processes BEGINS'
It is 'while verification and other clearance processes BEGIN!!'
I had all my education in this country. It was never this bad..."

Her correction quickly caught the attention of social media users, many of whom praised her for upholding basic educational standards, while others expressed dismay that a national education body could make such simple yet embarrassing mistake.
