Pregnant Woman Struck by Her Twins’ Father
What began as an ordinary roadside
emergency quickly unraveled into a harrowing case of betrayal and violence in
Honolulu, when a pregnant woman carrying twins was struck by a vehicle while
changing her tire. In a chilling twist, the driver behind the wheel was
revealed to be the father of her unborn children.
The incident, which occurred just
before noon on April 8, has now led to criminal charges that stunned even
seasoned investigators.
According to a complaint filed in Honolulu
District Court, police were dispatched to what was initially reported as a “possible
domestic argument.” But what they found was far more disturbing a pregnant
woman injured on the roadside, breathing but visibly shaken.
The woman, four months pregnant,
identified her alleged assailant as Justin Ahkuoi, the father of the unborn
twins. She told Officer Reggee Bailey that while she was changing her tire,
Ahkuoi suddenly sped toward her and sideswiped her, striking the left side of
her body and sending her spinning to the ground.
After getting out of the car,
Ahkuoi allegedly uttered words that turned the incident from reckless to
horrifying: “F*** you… I just killed our two babies.”
An eyewitness confirmed the
sequence of events, prompting officers to launch a full-scale investigation.
Despite the brutal nature of the act, Ahkuoi was not arrested until April 22,
nearly two weeks after a judge had signed the criminal complaint. He now faces a
second-degree attempted murder charge and is being held at Oahu Community
Correctional Center with bail set at $150,000.
Meanwhile, the mother is recovering
physically, at least as the emotional trauma of the ordeal continues to unfold.
