FCT Police Debunk Reports of Ex-Immigration Boss David Parradang’s Alleged Kidnapping and Murd£r
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
Police Command has dismissed viral reports claiming that retired Comptroller
General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, was kidnapped
and killed in Abuja.
Earlier reports alleged that
Parradang was attacked in the Area 1 axis of Abuja on Tuesday, March 4, 2025
after withdrawing money from a bank. The reports suggested that armed
assailants trailed him, robbed him of his cash, and murdered him.
However, the FCT Police Command has
clarified that these claims are false.
According to SP Josephine Adeh, the
command’s spokesperson, Parradang was found dead in his hotel room at Joy House
Hotel, Area 3 Junction, Abuja. The circumstances of his death are now under
police investigation.
"On March 3, 2025, at
approximately 12:00 PM, Mr. Parradang arrived at Joy House Hotel, Area 3
Junction, driving a black Mercedes Benz. He checked in, paying ₦22,000 for a
one-night stay."
"Shortly after, he
requested a hotel room attendant to escort a female visitor to his room. The
lady left the premises around 4:00 PM. However, Mr. Parradang did not
leave his room afterward."
"At around 4:00 AM on March
4, 2025, a military officer, concerned for his whereabouts, traced him to the
hotel. Upon arrival, the hotel receptionist and the officer proceeded to his
room, where he was found dead, seated in a chair."
Following the discovery, officers
from the Durumi Police Station arrived at the scene, secured the area, and
collected relevant evidence.
"His body has been
transferred to the National Hospital for further examination, while hotel staff
are cooperating with investigators. Efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend
the lady who was last seen with him," Adeh stated.
She also urged the public and media
to refrain from spreading unverified claims that could incite fear or panic.
As the investigation unfolds, the
police assure the public that justice will be served, and further updates will
be provided.
Hopefully they get to the bottom of this issue soon
