Massive Crash on French A13 Leaves 36 Injured, Including Military Cadets
A devastating crash involving four
buses carrying military cadets and a private vehicle occurred on the French A13
motorway near Guerville, about 36 miles west of Paris, on Tuesday night.
At least 36 people sustained
injuries, with one victim in critical but non-life-threatening condition,
according to local reports. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals,
while the critically injured individual was rushed to a Paris trauma center for
urgent medical care.
Authorities have declared the crash
a mass-casualty event, as a total of 119 people were involved in the accident.
Emergency responders, including fifty firefighters and medical personnel, were
deployed to the scene, leading to significant traffic disruptions with the
motorway being reduced to a single lane.
The military cadets were returning
to school from a seminar when the accident occurred. They were later evacuated
via replacement buses.
As of now, the cause of the crash
remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing.
