The Delta State Police Command has arrested the manager of Century Home Hotel in Owhelogbo community, Isoko North Local Government, along with three others, in connection with the brutal murder of a guest, Bishop Sunday Ogofotha.

According to the police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the arrests on Friday, March 28, 2025, the hotel manager allegedly conspired with two individuals who offered him N5 million to gain access to Sunday's room.

Sunday Ogofotha, a Lagos resident and an indigene of the community, had traveled to Delta State for a relative's burial. Upon his arrival, he checked into the hotel and informed his wife of his location. However, when the funeral took place the next day, he was nowhere to be found.

Concerned family members reached out to his wife, who confirmed that he was staying at Century Home Hotel. When they approached the hotel management to inquire about him, they were told that no such guest had checked in.

A heated argument ensued, and the family insisted on searching the rooms. Initially, the hotel management resisted, particularly when they reached one specific room. The hotel owner, Chief Joseph Ovie Oghole, claimed that guests inside were "making out" and should not be disturbed.

However, the family, alongside members of the community's vigilante group, forced their way into the room—only to discover Sunday’s lifeless body tied up with ropes, bearing multiple injuries.

His corpse has since been deposited at the mortuary in Ozoro, the headquarters of the council.

The suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue.
