A social media user has sparked a debate over the state of organization at the Super Eagles’ recent press conference in Uyo, comparing it to the previous one held in Rwanda.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), user Obiasogu David pointed out the stark differences in backdrop quality, lighting, seating arrangement, microphone positioning, and overall aesthetics between the two events.

In his post, David criticized what he described as Nigeria’s culture of “anyhowness”, arguing that the lack of attention to detail reflects a deep-rooted problem within government agencies, including the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

“There is no drive for efficiency, good optics, value-adding aesthetics, or excellence. The individuals who run these agencies are only interested in minimizing project spending to maximize the loot they’ll get.”

He further suggested that outsourcing press conferences to private sector brands could be a solution—though he quickly dismissed the idea, claiming that the NFF itself is a major culprit in the issue.

David’s post has since gained traction, with many Nigerians agreeing that the poor organization of official events reflects a larger systemic issue in the country’s administration.
