Theatrics in Court: Suspect in Anambra Billionaire's Disappearance Appears with Neck Brace and Drip
A dramatic scene unfolded on
Thursday, February 20, as one of the suspects arrested in connection with the
disappearance of billionaire businessman Benjamin Ezenma, popularly known as
"Big Ben," arrived at the Anambra State High Court in an ambulance.
The court, sitting in Awka,
arraigned three individuals—Ọzo Jeff Nweke, Tochukwu Nwokoye, and David
Chukwuemeka Chinonso—on charges of conspiracy and kidnapping related to the
case of Big Ben, the Vice Chairman of Dubai Estate, Awka, who mysteriously
disappeared on November 12, 2024.
Eyewitnesses were left in shock as
Jeff Nweke was transported to the court in an ambulance, wearing a neck brace
with a drip attached to his body. In a highly unusual courtroom entry, he was
lifted out of the ambulance and wheeled into the courtroom on a stretcher.
Despite the dramatic entrance, all
three defendants, in suit no. AWK/6C/2025, pleaded not guilty to the charges
read before them by Justice Ike Ogu of the Awka Judicial Division.
As the trial unfolds, the public
eagerly awaits further developments in the high-profile case that has gripped
Anambra State.
