Super Eagles Striker Kelechi Iheanacho Lands at Middlesbrough on Loan from Sevilla

Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has completed a loan move to Middlesbrough, joining the Championship club until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old forward, who previously played for Manchester City and Leicester City, agreed to the switch, with Michael Carrick’s side holding an option to make the move permanent this summer.

Iheanacho’s move comes after a challenging stint at Sevilla, where he struggled for form since arriving from Leicester City last summer. The Nigerian international failed to score in nine La Liga appearances, with his only goals for the club coming in the Copa del Rey, where he found the net three times.

According to Sky Sports, Middlesbrough will cover nearly the entire €2 million Sevilla still owes Iheanacho for the remainder of the season.

Now at Riverside Stadium, Iheanacho is eager to revive his career and make an impact as Middlesbrough pushes for a return to the Premier League. The club currently sits seventh in the Championship with 44 points from 29 matches, just outside the playoff spots.
