Paul Okoye Takes A Stand: 'I'll Get Jude Out of Prison, No Matter What (Video)
Nigerian music star Paul Okoye,
popularly known as Rudeboy, has made a bold move to secure the release of his
elder brother, Jude Okoye, from custody. Rudeboy offered one of his Ikoyi
properties, valued at billions of naira, as surety for Jude’s bail.
Jude Okoye, the former manager of
P-Square, was remanded in Ikoyi Correctional Facility on February 26, 2025,
after being arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
over alleged money laundering charges involving N1.38 billion, $1 million, and
£34,537.59.
He pleaded not guilty, and the
court scheduled a bail hearing for February 28, 2025.
At the bail hearing, Rudeboy took
the stand, offering to stake one of his prime properties in Ikoyi as surety to
secure Jude’s release.
“My Lord, I have here with me
documents of one of my properties situated in Ikoyi valued at several billions
of naira, and I’m willing to drop it with the court, but please release my
brother to me on bail today,” he declared.
Outside the courtroom, Rudeboy made
a shocking statement, suggesting that his twin brother, Peter Okoye (Mr. P),
was behind Jude’s legal troubles.
“It’s Peter that is doing this.
He’s putting him in prison, and I’m here to bring him out.”
Jude Okoye is facing trial
alongside his company, Northside Music Ltd, before Justice Alexander Owoeye of
the Federal High Court in Lagos.
Reports indicate that Peter Okoye
petitioned the EFCC, alleging that Jude secretly set up a company with his
wife, Ifeoma Okoye, as the founder and director, raising concerns over
P-Square’s missing royalties.
Following Jude’s arraignment,
Rudeboy took to Instagram with a cryptic message, seemingly directed at Peter:
“Exactly what he wants. This too
shall pass. Stay strong, brother @judeengees.”
