Swap Deal Sensation: Man United Offer €40m for Victor Osimhen

Manchester United are reportedly exploring a sensational transfer move for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, with a potential swap deal involving Rasmus Højlund plus €40 million.

According to Calciomercato.com (via Football Italia), the Red Devils are unwilling to meet Osimhen’s €75 million release clause outright but are keen on negotiating a deal that includes their struggling Danish forward.

Reports from Repubblica indicate that United had already shown interest in signing Osimhen during the January transfer window, but the Super Eagles star rejected a move as he wanted to complete his loan spell at Galatasaray.

The 26-year-old has been in red-hot form since joining the Turkish giants, scoring 14 goals and providing four assists in 19 league appearances. He has also made a mark in European competitions, registering six goals and one assist in seven UEFA Europa League matches.

Across all competitions this season, Osimhen has contributed a total of 20 goals and five assists in 26 matches, reaffirming his status as one of Europe's most lethal forwards.

On the other hand, Rasmus Højlund has endured a difficult 2024/25 season with Manchester United. The 21-year-old Danish forward has managed just seven goals and one assist in 32 appearances across all competitions, leading to speculation about his future at Old Trafford.

While Napoli may demand a higher fee for Osimhen, United’s willingness to include Højlund in the deal could make the proposal more appealing. However, the final decision will likely rest on Napoli’s valuation of the Danish striker and whether they see him as a viable replacement for Osimhen.

With the summer transfer window approaching, all eyes will be on whether this blockbuster swap deal materializes.
