Unbelievable! Brothel Found Operating INSIDE a Primary School in Edo State!

 

You might need to read that twice. In a truly shocking discovery that highlights the brazenness of land encroachment in Edo State, the government has just uncovered and sealed a brothel operating right inside a primary school in the Esan West Local Government Area!

This unbelievable revelation came to light today, Thursday, May 22, 2025, during a press conference in Benin City led by Eugene Okolosie, the State Coordinator for the Protection of Government Property. The brothel, found within Ujuele Primary School, has been promptly sealed, with discussions underway with the Governor on how to convert such properties.

But the brothel is just the tip of the iceberg. Okolosie disclosed a much wider problem: over 2,000 plots of encroached government land have already been recovered, and a staggering over 150,000 houses in the state are built on government land!

Public schools, in particular, appear to be prime targets. "Seven per cent of our moat has been taken over, and the most affected is our public schools,” Okolosie stated. He cited examples like Ambrose Alli University, where significant plots were recovered from land grabbers who even forged community signatures.

Another shocking example surfaced at Iyoba Primary School, where the community itself allegedly divided and sold half of the school land, leading to a Imagine students trying to learn with the "aroma of stew getting into the classroom!" This bizarre encroachment is also under investigation.

With over 3,000 petitions received from communities in the last two months alone, the agency is vowing to recover all illegally acquired government property. This stark expose serves as a critical warning to prospective landowners: always get clearance from the Edo Geographic Information Service to avoid falling victim to these criminal land grabbers.
