Disaster Strikes Ikorodu: Uncompleted Building Collapses, Many Feared Trapped
Tragedy has struck the Ota-Ona area of Ikorodu, Lagos State, today, May
27, 2025, as an uncompleted two-storey building reportedly collapsed, leaving
an unknown number of persons feared trapped beneath the rubble.
The alarm was swiftly raised by Facebook user Rasheed Fatuga, who posted
about the incident this afternoon. The building, located directly facing the
Mobil Filling Station (formerly Bugon Filling Station), suddenly caved in,
sparking immediate panic and a frantic rescue effort.
As of the latest reports, five individuals have successfully been
rescued from the debris. However, emergency responders and local volunteers are
still on site, working tirelessly amidst the wreckage, as fears remain for
others who may be caught in the collapse.
Details regarding the cause of the collapse are still emerging, but the
focus remains squarely on the urgent rescue operation. Such incidents highlight
