Popular Pastor Rev. David Ayuba Azzaman Passes Away in Auto Crash
Kaduna State and indeed the wider Christian community are mourning the
profound loss of Rev. David Ayuba Azzaman, the leading pastor of The King
Worship Chapel and Ministry. A prominent cleric known for his fearless online
engagements and spirited interfaith debates, Rev. Azzaman tragically lost his
life in a ghastly auto crash on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
The devastating incident occurred as he was returning to Kaduna from
Makurdi, Benue State. His untimely demise comes with an eerie coincidence: just
four months prior, on January 29th, 2025, Rev. Azzaman had shared on Facebook
that a fellow pastor had seen a vision warning him to pray against passing away
in an accident.
Rev. Azzaman was more than just a pastor; he was a vocal advocate,
boldly speaking out against the persecution of Christians in Nigeria,
particularly in the face of rising kidnappings and widespread violence. His
powerful social media presence, especially on Facebook, cemented his status as
a notable figure among young Christians and religious scholars. He consistently
drew large audiences to his live video sessions and engaged in robust written
exchanges, challenging prevailing narratives.
Born and raised in northern Nigeria, Rev. Azzaman transcended the
traditional pulpit. He rose to prominence through his courageous forays into
theological debates, often engaging prominent Muslim scholars and atheist
thinkers on matters of faith and doctrine. He was also a strong critic of the
perceived silence of local and international media regarding the plight of
Christians in Nigeria, consistently advocating for greater awareness and
action.
Rev. David Ayuba Azzaman leaves behind a legacy of courage, conviction,
and unwavering faith. He is survived by his devoted wife and children. His
passing is a significant blow to those who looked to him for spiritual guidance
and a champion for justice.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, church members, and all
who were touched by his impactful ministry.
