21-Year-Old Woman Arrested After Allegedly Stabbing Boyfriend to De@th

 

A quiet Friday in the Ijegun area of Lagos turned into a crime scene when a domestic disagreement spiraled fatally out of control, leaving a young man lifeless and a 21-year-old woman in police custody.

The suspect, Precious Anegbode, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Damilola, to death during a heated argument that erupted inside his residence.

According to local sources, what started as a verbal spat quickly escalated into a physical altercation. Residents, alarmed by the raised voices and prolonged shouting from the room, rushed in only to find Damilola bleeding on the floor. He had sustained a stab wound, believed to have been inflicted with a kitchen knife.

“We couldn’t tell what triggered the fight. One moment, they were arguing; the next, we heard the girl screaming. When we entered the room, the young man was lying motionless on the ground,” a neighbour told Punch, under condition of anonymity.

Others immediately mobilized and rushed the victim to the Igando General Hospital, where doctors confirmed him dead on arrival. Meanwhile, some community members restrained Anegbode from fleeing until police arrived.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest and provided a detailed update. He noted that the incident occurred around 11:30 a.m., and the Igando Police Division was promptly alerted.

“The suspect was arrested, and the scene of the incident was visited. The murder weapon a bloodstained knife was recovered. Photographs were taken and statements obtained,” Hundeyin explained.

Following procedural review, the case has been transferred to the Isheri Oshun Police Division, under whose jurisdiction the crime falls. From there, it will be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba for further investigation.

Anegbode has allegedly made a confessional statement, though police emphasized that a thorough investigation is ongoing to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
