Just as promised "Deportation flights have begun" - Trump administration announces (Photos)
Just four days after taking office
as the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump has begun delivering
on his campaign promise to enforce stricter immigration policies. The
administration has initiated deportation flights using military aircraft to
return undocumented immigrants to their home countries.
“Deportation flights have begun,”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced, emphasizing President
Trump’s commitment to sending a “strong and clear message to the entire world:
if you illegally enter the United States of America, you will face severe
consequences.”
Leavitt shared photos on the social
media platform X, showing individuals in handcuffs boarding a military plane.
The use of military aircraft for these operations follows an executive order
signed by President Trump earlier this week.
In an interview with journalist
Chris Cuomo, U.S. Border Czar Tom Homan reported that 1,300 individuals had
already been arrested as part of this initiative. “Over a thousand of them are
criminals,” Homan explained. “The others are fugitives who’ve been through
immigration court and absconded, or collaterals.”
During his presidential campaign,
Trump vowed to implement the largest deportation effort in U.S. history. With
these flights underway, the administration appears to be making good on that
pledge, sparking both praise and criticism across the political spectrum.
As the policy takes effect, it
continues to fuel debates about the balance between national security and human
rights, leaving the nation divided over the broader implications of this
approach to immigration enforcement.
