The Prince and Princess of Wales publicly wished Prince Harry a happy 40th birthday on social media for the first time in three years. William and Kate shared a post originally made by the royal family on X, adding their own message: "Wishing a Happy 40th Birthday to The Duke of Sussex!"
This is the first public birthday greeting for Harry since 2021, following his and Meghan's interview with Oprah Winfrey. The gesture surprised many due to the ongoing tensions between Harry, William, and their father, King Charles.
Harry, now living in California, celebrated his birthday with Meghan and their children, while also planning a gathering with friends. Reflecting on the milestone, he said he was "excited about 40" after a year filled with various activities, including semi-royal tours and participating in the Invictus Games.
